Since the earliest days of the electrical industry both employers and employees have sought to identify electrical hazards and determine the best way to control them. This resulted in a cookie-cutter approach to electrical safety issues where the presence of a hazard resulted in the employment of uniform procedures. The hazard analysis concept has been formalized into a process used throughout the industry.
