Presented by Jeremy Presnal, Shermco Industries
In the 2022 intro presentation, the presenters illustrated a case for change in how HEC (Hazardous Energy Control) is managed both from a host employer and contractor perspective. Additionally, historical OSHA and NFPA 70E compliance requirements were highlighted and the common conformance challenges that still exist in industry today, as well as best practices to mitigate these risks were shared. In this follow up presentation, the presenters will dive deeper into the tactical application of the tools and the structured change management plan required to successfully navigate the workforce and culture to a sustainable process improvement over time. Areas of focus will include HEC program changes and parallel to the Electrical Safety Program, enhancements to worker training, transitioning from paper risk assessments (e.g., HEC form, JHA/AHA, etc.) to digital tools, leadership field assessments, as well as managing situations for lone workers and culturally refreshing the stop work authority process.
