In this paper, the research of groups and teams will be discussed. A brief description of each will explain the differences between workgroups and teams. There has been a long history of groups and teams, but organizational teamwork has changed in the last few decades. Because of this change, social science has the scientific field for group dynamics to support information to improve teams' operations (Levi & Assay, 2020). Research data will support the strengths and weaknesses for each and why it is essential to group dynamics in the workplace today.
