This presentation will address the major rewrite that NETA has gone through for the NEW 2023 MTS. The NETA Standards Review Council, with the assistance of the Cables Subcommittee, has gone through a thorough review of the cable testing specifications within the Maintenance Testing Specifications to bring those specifications up to date with the consensus standard of testing provided by NETA Accredited Companies. In this presentation, the 2019 MTS specifications will be quickly reviewed, the changes included in the 2023 MTS specifications will be highlighted, and explanations will be provided for the reasons behind the changes to the 2023 MTS specifications. The associated tables that have changed and the new tables that have been included will also be presented.
