Testing protective relays for transformers can often present challenges for field technicians due to the complexity of the transformers themselves. Different CT ratios, offset tap settings, and different configurations in connection diagrams can present issues for proper setting validation. In this webinar we will provide some easy-to-use tips for proper testing of 3 phase digital transformer protective relays. We will show examples of proper differential (87)relay testing, along with testing harmonic restraint settings and other common protective elements associated with transformers. Whether you are using automated test routines, or strictly doing manual testing, participants will understand how the testing process works, and make sure the settings are properly defined in the relay.
