This 4 hour seminar will contain sections on the history, purpose, structure, and function of IEC61850. In the first section, the development history, the current standard contents, and future development will be briefly covered. The second part includes an in-depth discussion of the data model and the concept of virtualization, the services (GOOSE, Sampled Values, and Client Server communication), testing features, and key concepts of digital substation LAN design.
