The recent adoption of NFPA 70B as a standard has placed new emphasis on proper electrical equipment maintenance—and on the qualifications of those performing it.

For electrical contractors, these changes create both new challenges and opportunities. Unqualified or underqualified workers can introduce risk, compromise safety, and reduce system reliability. In this session, we will examine how NETA’s Qualified Electrical Equipment Maintenance Company (QEMC) and Worker (QEMW) programs provide contractors and facility owners with third-party assurance of both company and worker competence.

We will discuss the QEMC application and review process, the requirements for QEMW designation, and how these programs help contractors demonstrate compliance with NFPA 70B.
